Born into a musical family, Anna began her studies on the piano at the age of four and chose to play the violin at age seven.

Anna is now an active soloist, teacher, chamber and orchestral musician, and has performed in beloved venues such as Benaroya Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, and the Brevard Music Center. Past performance highlights include performing Zigeunerweisen with the Tacoma Young Artists Orchestra, which was reviewed as “electrifying” and “breathtaking” by the Tacoma Arts blog. She recently performed as a soloist in MassOpera’s eclectic production of La Traviata, which took place at the Eustis Estate in Milton, MA. Anna spent multiple summers at the Evergreen Music Festival, where she held terms as concertmaster, and at the Brevard Music Center, where she studied privately with Byron Tauchi.

Anna graduated from Boston University with a major in Violin Performance, minor in English, and coursework in Arts Leadership. While there, she studied in the studio of Dana Mazurkevich as well as Yuri Mazurkevich, and performed frequently as a chamber musician with coaching from the Muir String Quartet. Anna particularly loves the study and performance of 19th century character pieces and enjoys fusing traditional classical repertoire with elements of jazz and romanticism to create a unique and accessible sound for her audience.

Anna aims to provide hope for others through her performances and to bring music to places that often go without.

From 2019 until 2020, Anna served as an Artist-in-Residence at the Boston Medical Center. Throughout her residency, she created moments with music that contributed to the positive wellbeing of many facing extraordinary challenges in their lives. Performing in lobbies and surgical units at the Boston Medical Center was an enlightening experience; her favorite memory is of a young girl dancing ballet to the music. A patron at a performance remarked, “You can’t listen to this music and not have hope for the future.”

Anna enjoys creative and academic writing, as well as the study of vocal performance across a variety of genres. Named Boston University’s Poet Representative for the 2020 Greater Boston Intercollegiate Undergraduate Poetry Festival, her craft in poetry informs her musical performance as a violinist and vocalist.

As a vocalist, Anna predominantly performs in Jazz and R&B genres in a variety of venues in the Greater Boston area, including Daddy Jones Bar, the Mad Monkfish, Harvard University’s Smith Campus Center, the Fairmont Copley Plaza, the Boston Public Library, and Sunset Series atop Highland Park.

As an artist, administrator, entrepreneur and educator, Anna has a passion for building sustainable healing through art and preserving the integrity and cultural life of communities.

After completing an internship with Shelter Music Boston, an organization that programs 80-90 concerts in homeless shelters each year, a funded research project analyzing the marketing communication strategies of nonprofit arts organizations alongside aesthetic theory, and tenures as Development Associate at the Boston Public Library Fund and Contract Development Professional at the New England Foundation for the Arts, Anna founded the organization Music on the Hill Roxbury.

Music on the Hill Roxbury shares music programming with families with children ages 0-5 in Fort Hill and the surrounding neighborhoods of Roxbury. Providing an inclusive musical experience that is free to all, including sing-a-long and use of age-appropriate instruments, Music on the Hill Roxbury works to build elements of rhythm, enhance freedom of movement, and strengthen personal identity, expression, and well-being for every child.

Accepted as a Fellow for National Arts Strategies’ Creative Community Fellow New England program, made possible by the generous support of the Barr Foundation, Anna has had the opportunity to connect with visionary cultural leaders driving transformative change throughout the region, developing key skills in cultural organizing to strengthen the work of Music on the Hill Roxbury.

In addition, Anna currently works as Development Manager for the Grammy Award-winning ensemble and social impact organization, Silkroad, founded by Yo-Yo Ma and led by Rhiannon Giddens, and teaches privately from her home studio in Roxbury.
